We’ve all been there! You lose something off the dock, or the boat, and you just have to get it back. Obviously, you learned how to properly search and recover items in your PADI Search and Recovery course, but now’s the time to learn how to teach others those incredible useful skills. Become a better instructor, and a more experienced diver with this course.

The Course

This course focuses specifically on teaching you the skills you need to help create great search and recovery divers. Help divers learn new techniques to add to the experience they already have! By helping them fine-tune their skills, you’ll be doing the same with yours. You’ll teach divers a variety of swimming search patterns using compass and natural navigation, how to locate both large and small objects, how to use a lift bag for large or heavy objects, and how to plan a search operation during four dives.

PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors are able to take this course. Some OWSI/IDC candidates may participate in this training, but can only apply for their certification after passing an IE. Instructors looking to take this course must have logged some search and recovery dives, and a minimum of 10 dives must be completed as course exit requirement.
