Fun Facts & Info

Whether you're new to the diving world, or an experienced adventurer, the PADI National Geographic Diver program is your ticket to exploration!

If you are not, yet, a certified diver:

The Total Diving National Geographic Explorer program is an amazing entry door to the underwater world! You will learn all the basics of scuba diving contained in the regular PADI Open Water Diver course coupled with adventure, exploration and conservation projects specific to the National Geographic diver course.

If you are, already, a certified diver (with PADI or another certification agency):

The National Geographic Explorer course is a perfect opportunity to expand your dive experience to a new level... National Geographic style!

What will I Do?

Press "Play" to get an overview of your National Geographic adventure...

In the National Geographic Explorer course, you will further master buoyancy, manoeuvring and navigation techniques while developing your abilities at identifying aquatic life and at exploring new dive sites.

It's 2 dives - all about adventure, conservation and exploration.

You will learn to explore with detail, identify important underwater features and navigate with certainty. You will have the diving knowledge and practice to manoeuvre with poise along the underwater ecosystems.

Are there any special requirements?

The minimum age is 10 years old and there’s no maximum! To start this course, you need a PADI Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organization).

What do I need to start?

We will provide to you a professional instructor and your certification card. We will also supply air cylinders and weights.

You need to supply the rest of the diving gear. You also need to purchase the course manual.

However, if you are are registered in the Total Diver program, your rental gear for these 2 dives and the course manual will be provided to you at no charge.

How long will it take?

You can complete these 2 dives in one day near Montreal or during one of our instructor-lead dive adventures under the sun!

Where do we dive?

During your Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver courses, you'll be doing many boat dives on wrecks of the St. Lawrence River. Therefore, for variety in your training, we will be experiencing with shore diving for these 2 National Geographic Explorer dives, from the shores of Prescott in Ontario.

We meet in the morning at Total Diving St-Zotique for dive briefings and to pick up cylinders, weights and rental dive gear (if needed).

Can I get private instruction?

Yes! Whatever your crazy hours, our instructors are willing and ready to accommodate.  Extra fees apply.

I have more questions...

Just give us a call or stop by. In Montreal, we are open pretty much all the time. In St-Zotique, it depends on the season.

At either place, we always have coffee ready for you!
