Want it. Live it. Dive it.

Your life will never be the same after you’ve discovered a “New World” of sensations! Scuba diving is not just a sport... It's a lifestyle. I'm sure you've heard that before. But what does it mean?

One of the beauty of scuba diving is that it's as many different kind of sports as you want. It can be the most extreme adrenaline-pumping sport you've ever done, penetrating a wreck in deep water in our very own St. Lawrence River, or it can be a session of underwater yoga, taking pictures of blennies in 20 feet of water in the Exuma Cays. It's really up to you.

Press "Play" to get an idea of what diving is all about.

And that is just the sport part of things... Scuba diving also comes with the great outdoors... Lots of friends... Sand, sun, beaches... Boats, bikinis... Think about it: A normal dive will last about an hour. You will normally do between 2 and 5 dives per day depending how addicted you are. The rest of the time is spent preparing the dives and talking about the dives, with your dive buddies.

Total Diving is as much a social club as a dive center!

So what are you waiting for? There is nothing on TV tonight, anyway! It's time for you to get wet.

What c-card do I need to become a scuba diver?

The PADI Open Water Diver certification card is the most widely recognized card around the World. It gives you the freedom to dive with a buddy, independent of a professional.  However, our experience tells us that you will want and need more.

So the right question is what training do you need? The certification card (commonly called a c-card) is not the main focus here. Your safety and your fun are the key elements to take care of. And they go hand in hand! The safer and more comfortable you are in the water, the more fun you'll have.

So what training do I need to be safe and comfortable underwater?

Your development as a recreational diver will go through 4 stages:

  • Learning the basic skills to breathe underwater during day time, in less than 60 feet of water: PADI Open Water Diver course.

  • Then, you will want to further develop your diving skills while learning to dive up to 100 feet, dive at night and navigate back to the boat at the end of the dive: PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course.
    • Although this course is called "advanced", it is really part of your basic training. You don't want to go to the Caribbean without at least an Advanced Open Water certification. This is why we've created the Total Diver program that includes the Open Water and Advanced Open Water courses.
  • Mastering your skills with various specialties like underwater photo, wreck, deep (under 100 feet), enriched air nitrox (for less nitrogen absorption), dry suit and peak performance buoyancy.
  • Learning to prevent most common problems underwater and practicing how to react to emergencies so that you can help yourself as much as your buddy: PADI Rescue Diver course with the Divers Alert Network and Emergency First Responder training programs.

We realize that if you are new to this underwater adventure, all of this might look intimidating and confusing. So, if you are tired of burning your eyes on this computer monitor, simply contact us with your questions or come see us. We love talking about diving almost as much as we love diving!
