PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course |

The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is not like what you've done in your entry level certification course. This 2nd level of certification is really all about learning to dive by diving. In fact, PADI has now officially renamed this course the "PADI Adventure in Diving" course. It requires only one week-end of diving and one evening of theory and dive preparation. After these 5 dives, you'll be more experienced, feel more comfortable in the water and simply enjoy diving more because you will better understand the underwater environment and your own abilities. What will I do?There is no pool practice and almost no classroom! At this level, we learn diving by diving! We have an evening meeting to plan our week-end of diving together, than we go diving on Saturday in St-Zotique and on Sunday in Brockville in the Thousand Islands. We will do an underwater navigation dive (it's always nice to find the boat at the end of a dive), a night dive (the best dives in the Caribbean are at night), a deep dive (the divemaster in your next Caribbean vacation will bring you deeper than the 60 feet Open Water Diver certification limit), a wreck dive (the best diving around here and the best way to find underwater treasures) and a peak performance buoyancy dive on a specially-designed buoyancy circuit (to help you be more comfortable in the water, reduce your air consumption rate and better protect the environment). Are there any special requirements? The minimum age for training is 12 years old and there’s no maximum! To start this course, you need a PADI Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organization). What do I need to start? We will provide you a professional instructor, the dive boats and your certification card. We will also supply air cylinders and weights. You need to supply the rest of the diving gear. For comfort, enjoyment and safety, we recommend that you acquire your own gear during the Open Water Diver course. If not, you can rent it and you will get a 20% rebate from our rental department for renting gear to participate in a Total Diving course. You also need to purchase the course manual, unless you are registered in the Total Diver program. How long will it take? You can complete all 5 dives in one week-end in St-Zotique and Brockville, or during one of our instructor-lead dive adventures under the sun! Just check our course schedule in the right margin of this page. Can I get private instruction?Yes! Whatever your crazy hours, our instructors are willing and ready to accommodate. Extra fees apply. Where do we dive?On Saturday, we do the peak performance buoyancy, underwater navigation and night dives at Total Diving St-Zotique. On Sunday, we jump onto our charter boat in the Thousand Islands for a deep dive and a wreck dive. All boat fees are included in the price of the course! Note: If the weather or the boat mechanics do not cooperate, we will use alternative dive sites from shore. Why Total Diving ?We give you the knowledge & skills necessary to become a self-reliant, safe and capable scuba diver. Our professionals set the standards for dive training with no compromise. Furthermore... The price of the course is almost equivalent to the 5 boat dives you are getting part of the course! How much is the course?299$. It’s the most “advanced” course in Montreal - with 5 boat dives on 4 different wrecks. However, we strongly recommend that you do not pay that 299$ amount... We suggest that you have, instead, a serious look at the Total Diver program - designed by divers for divers. I have more questions...Just give us a call or stop by. In Montreal, we are open pretty much all the time. In St-Zotique, it depends on the season. At either place, we always have coffee ready for you! Patrick |
